Summerfest Business Alliance Member Spotlight

1.) Tell Us Your Story!
Trinity Senior Services is committed to providing support and resources to our residents, their families and the community throughout their aging journey. Trinity Senior Services operates under the belief that we are “Better Together” and that encompasses our employees, residents, and senior living communities.
Our communities and services include the Milwaukee Catholic Home, Trinity Woods, Clare Gardens, Our Lady of the Angels Convent, Queen of Peace Friary, and Trinity Senior Services Care Partner Program.
Our mission: Our shared spirit of community calls us to serve with excellence.
Our vision: Trinity Senior Services senior living communities will become the standard against which others are measured by delivering the highest level of services to older adults across the continuum of care. Our board, management, staff, benefactors, volunteers and friends will unite around the shared belief that we are called to do more.
Our values:
- Compassion: Awareness and empathy concerning the needs of others.
- Excellence: A commitment to the highest standards delivered with competence and continuous improvement.
- Integrity: Honesty, authenticity and responsible stewardship of our resources.
- Benevolence: The desire to do good through acts of kindness and charitable generosity
2.) Tell us about your organization’s accomplishments and what you’re most proud of as an employer in Wisconsin.
The high standards of senior care Trinity Senior Services achieves originated at Milwaukee Catholic Home, which was founded in 1913. Since then, our locations and services have significantly expanded; today, we have over 500 employees across Trinity Senior Services, and the good work we do continues to touch many lives in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Trinity Senior Services is dedicated to providing our residents with opportunities to live an engaged life with a sense of purpose and belonging to something greater than self. That means building teams of caring and attentive professionals while building communities with attractive amenities and fulfilling activities.
3.) Tell us about some of the ways in which your organization gets involved in your community. What are some of the organizations you choose to support, and why is that important to your business and culture?
Our communities participate several charitable initiatives throughout the year, including Nurses Affecting Change (a group travels around the greater Milwaukee area providing free breast exams to women), the Capuchin Community Services’ Holiday Food Program (which provides central city families in need with food baskets that contain all the fixings for a festive meal during both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), and The Ladies of Charity Winter Clothing Drive (works to clothe children in need in our city). We also host an annual spiritual retreat which is open to members of the community.
Our organization was proud to partner with the following learning institutions in 2023 in the areas of RN and CNA Clinical Practicums, Social Work, Art and Recreational Therapy, Health Care Administration, and Dietetics:
- Mount Mary University
- Alverno College
- The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
- Milwaukee Area Technical College
- Herzing University
- Divine Savior Holy Angels High School
- Marquette University High School
By working with our nonprofit and community partners, we aim to be a catalyst for impactful and lasting change in Southeast Wisconsin.
In addition, Clare Gardens, our sustainable, farm-to-table project located at The Catholic Ecology Center in Neosho, Wisconsin, offers acres of organic vegetables, an orchard, beehives, hens, and composting of food waste. Clare Gardens provides over 30,000 pounds of organic produce annually to senior living communities in the Greater Milwaukee area, including Milwaukee Catholic Home and Trinity Woods on the Mount Mary University campus. Produce is also available to the wider public through farm-to-table events at the Catholic Ecology Center. In addition, Clare Gardens hosts intergenerational educational experiences to expand the understanding of composting, no-till farming practices, and the effective use of cover crops to eliminate the need for pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers in food production.
4.) Why is it important to your organization to support Summerfest through the Summerfest Business Alliance and what are some of the unique ways in which you distribute/use your Summerfest tickets?
Summerfest has made a remarkable impact on Milwaukee culture, and we are honored to support and participate in this world-renowned festival!
We at Trinity Senior Services are proud to say that we now have 500 employees at each of our companies: Milwaukee Catholic Home, Trinity Woods, Clare Gardens, Our Lady of the Angels Convent, Queen of Peace Friary, and our care partnering service Trinity Senior Services. Our shared commitment to teamwork and collaboration and the belief that collaboration leads to better outcomes for employees and residents makes us ‘Better Together.' This is what makes us Trinity Senior Services!
As a way of saying thank you to these 500 exceptional team members, we will be giving each of them a general admissions ticket to Summerfest to use on the day of their choice. All staff are also invited to our organization’s annual Partnership Event. The Partnership Event will take place at the world’s largest music festival, Milwaukee Summerfest, on Thursday, June 27th from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm. In addition to enjoying local eats and drinks throughout the afternoon at our reserved space at the coveted Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard Stage, staff and their families can explore Summerfest at their leisure.
In addition, residents from both Milwaukee Catholic Home and Trinity Woods annually attend SeniorFest Day at Summerfest! This is an occasion that our residents always look forward to; not only do they have the chance to hear world class entertainment and take in the scenery of the beautiful Milwaukee lakefront, but they also have a chance to interact with their fellow residents. Residents from Milwaukee Catholic Home, for example, can enjoy all Summerfest has to offer with a resident of Trinity Woods. Through socialization and engagement, they can learn more about what their unique community has to offer, what their family is like, what their favorite Summerfest snack is-you name it! What an exciting setting for new friendships to form and new connections to be made!
5.) What is your favorite Summerfest memory? Which artist would you love to see on a Summerfest stage?
Countless Trinity Senior Services team members have had unforgettable memories at Summerfest over the years; attending Summerfest is a tradition many people cherish and always look forward to!
When asking some of our staff members what their favorite Summerfest memory was, we got a variety of answers; while our CEO would love to see Mumford & Sons back at the Marcus Amphitheater, our CFO had a great time seeing Backstreet Boys in the summer of 2022. But no matter who you ask, I think the Trinity Senior Services team can all agree; Wouldn’t it be nice if Taylor Swift decided to make Milwaukee another stop on her famous Eras tour? One can dream, right?
6.) If you’ve hosted a private event with us tell us about your party experience. How have you leveraged this event to engage your guests and benefit your organization?
We will be hosting our annual Partnership Event this year at Summerfest. This is the first event we have ever hosted at Summerfest, and we certainly know it won’t be the last!
The annual partnership event, first established in 2018 at Milwaukee Catholic Home, celebrates the accomplishments of Trinity Senior Services and honors the donors who have made a lifetime commitment to the organization. Donors have always played a significant role in ensuring Milwaukee Catholic Home (and now, Trinity Senior Services), can continue to live out its mission of service. says Caitlin Elftman, Director of Mission Advancement of Trinity Senior Services. From the founding group of women who gathered the philanthropic community behind their new idea of Milwaukee Catholic Home in 1913, to the current committed group of supporters who share our passion for our work, we rely on donors to maintain the standard of excellence in senior care.
Hosting this year’s event at Summerfest will not only allow us to engage donors and friends of the organization, but it will open attendance up to a whole new group of people, a group of people we enthusiastically want to engage with and thank; our beloved staff.
7.) What else would you like to share about your experience with Summerfest and the Summerfest Business Alliance?
Planning the Trinity Senior Services Partnership Event with the Summerfest team has been a delight! They have been engaged, supportive, and enthusiastic since the beginning of the process; we can’t say enough about their exceptional communication skills and their commitment to providing great service to their guests. What a pleasure to work with them!
