About Us
La Causa, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening families and building community stability through access to education, early care, crisis intervention, and social support. Founded in 1972 on Milwaukee’s South Side to address the gaps in care and support for Latino families in the community, La Causa now serves over 2,400 children and families annually across Southeastern Wisconsin. We operate four integrated divisions: Early Education & Care, a K4–8 Charter School, Social Services for youth and adults, and Wisconsin’s only 24/7 Crisis Nursery & Respite Center. Our mission is to provide children, youth, and families with quality, comprehensive services to nurture healthy family life and enhance community stability. Our goals are to reduce disparities, empower families, and ensure children are safe, supported, and school-ready. Through trauma-informed care, bilingual education, and culturally responsive services, we help families overcome challenges and build long-term resilience.
