In addition to producing Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. maintains and develops the 75-acre lakefront parcel known as Henry Maier Festival Park, leasing the parcel from the City of Milwaukee through the year 2030, and hosting a variety of ethnic and cultural festivals, walks, runs, concerts and other events along with approximately 1.5 million patrons each year at the site.

Box Office Manager

Infrastructure Engineer

  • Designing, Implementing and managing all aspects of the MWF computing environments, including server and storage, networking (both wired and wireless), backup systems, IT security, telephony, point of sale, electronic signage, & surveillance security. Dispatches maintenance requests for production software applications or a service requests for problems of a technical nature to the appropriate resource.  Working with hardware and software vendors to escalate issues as needed with the ability to determine root-cause and develop long term solutions.
  • Identifies and resolves end user break/fix issues (desktop computers, POS systems, printers, scanners, verifying network connections, etc.). 
  • Provides support and training as needed on Microsoft and Apple based computers, Microsoft Office 365, Outlook and business applications using knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and WINS. The support varies from software to server hardware, and network connectivity. Working knowledge of SQL server, a plus.
  • Configures and deploys PCs and Laptops for new employees or as a replacement\upgrade for existing equipment. Assisting with the setup of BYOD systems for end-users who utilize their own devices (cell phones, tablets & laptops primarily) for remote connectivity.
  • Maintaining the MWF computer room servers, SAN and virtualization platforms as well as validate performance of daily backups. Additionally, provide as needed, backup support to other team members to the IT infrastructure including but not limited to LAN/WAN/Security environment.
  • Must keep on top of emerging technologies & best practices as they pertain to the environment and our industry with an eye on improving customer experiences while understanding implementation costs & ROI. Completes other projects as assigned. 
  • Provides support for the Point of Sale environment networking and cash registers, supporting price changing and reporting systems as required.
  • Provides support for the Admissions and Ticketmaster environment networking and ticket selling systems.

This position requires collaboration with other departments to advance these duties by providing support for MWF’s day-to-day operations and all events held at the venue.

  • Support the overall administrative functions of the department including but not limited to assisting with the scheduling and documentation of contractor services, City code requirements, vendor services and paperwork flow.
  • Assist with functions related to a work order system and help ensure that they are addressed in a timely and professional manner. Assist with the planning and establishment of work schedules and assignments to meet grounds maintenance and cleaning for the park and events.

Event Manager

  • Oversee and hold accountable internal and external resources to proactively ensure high quality event production while striving for continuous improvement
  • Assist Vice President, Executive Producer with gathering and analyzing data to identify opportunities and make recommendations on event strategy and improvements.
  • Document and refine processes, procedures and standards for assigned events
  • Lead department meetings to review event goals and initiatives as it pertains to specific event plans and implementation of such.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and providing appropriate training for seasonal Event Production support staff.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and delegate work assignments for seasonal Event Production personnel, and delegate assignments to other aligned MWF staff involved in delivering the event per the plan.
  • Document event content in the form of Run of Show (ROS) and event sheets to allow internal departments plan and activate against the plan effectively and efficiently.
  • Support Executive Producer in the development and execution of client’s event contracts and secure permits and insurance where required.
  • Create and manage production and timeline documentation including credential distribution, COIs and load-in / load-out details, utilities needed and equipment rentals from third party vendors.
  • Collaborate with Sales Deparment on venue sales efforts by vetting potential new client events, providing event plan concepts and venue information, budget development, as well as participating in external meetings and presentations as necessary to secure business.
  • Lead logistic and operational elements of special Summerfest projects such as ticket giveaways, Opening / Closing Ceremonies, award presentations, onsite VIP management, etc.
  • Help maintain a safe environment at HMFP through frequent communication with MWF Security and Dispatch for all event traffic on and off-grounds. Communicate safety regulations and guidelines to clients / partners / vendors.

Assistant Controller

Summary

The Assistant Controller works with the Controller to lead the finance/accounting organization by providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.

  • Leads month-end accounting close process to ensure effective, timely, and accurate results.
  • Assists in the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial statements.
  • Supervise the Senior Staff Accountant and Director of Ticketing.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
  • Prepare all cash receipts for entry into accounting software.
  • Generate accounts receivable invoices.
  • Maintain budgets and participate in strategic planning process.
  • Oversee the fixed asset system and reconcile to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with the external financial audit.
